About

I'm a senior at Brown University studying Computer Science. I am interested in the field broadly, though I've worked on topics in privacy and analytics most recently. On the side, I can be found uploading my latest Brown Cycling team ride on Strava, gorging myself with food on Beli (@ben_k), and wallowing in being a Vancouver Canucks fan.

Experience

Microsoft

Software Engineer Intern

May - Aug. 2025

|

Redmond, WA

Received L60 full-time return offer. Clarified usage and charges on the Rating Input team within Commerce and Ecosystems org, responsible for processing tens of trillions of Azure events annually. Built a reuseable .NET development framework for our greater Charge Generation Platform (100+ engineers) to automate billing-incident mitigation, potentially saving hundreds of on-call hours annually.

Intus Care

Software Engineering Intern

June - Aug. 2024

|

Cambridge, MA

Shipped, from scratch to production, several key features — medications, patient history, and more — for Intus Care's new flagship product, CareHub PACE EMR. Architected types, data models, tRPC-based APIs, and database seeders for multiple pages; built core, system-wide UI components used across hundreds of files; and engineered new Playwright testing suite to evaluate CareHub frontend.

NYU Courant, AI & Predictive Analytics Lab

Visiting Researcher

June - Aug. 2023

|

New York, NY

Built world’s largest body of queryable LENR research on AI and Low-Energy Nuclear Reactions (AI-LENR) team under Professor Anasse Bari. Published paper in IEEE ICBDA 2024 and built LENRdashboard.com, the now de-facto research resource for the LENR academic community.

School Involvement

Full Stack at Brown

President (2024-25), Advisor (2025-2026)

Sept. 2023 - May 2026

|

Providence, RI

Led Full Stack at Brown, Brown’s largest active CS club with 150+ members. We build sites pro-bono for non-profits, student groups, and research labs, with 30+ completed sites and 15+ annual projects.

Brown CS Department

Undergraduate Teaching Assistant

Jan. - June 2025 & 2026

|

Providence, RI

Served as a TA for 300+ students in Brown CS’s largest course, CS 200: Data Structures and Algorithms. Revised assignment specifications, taught concepts in lab for 25+ students, and supported students in office hours.

Projects

minipilot

Python, ChromaDB, Instructor-XL, Flask, SQLite

2nd place winner, 2025 Microsoft Global Intern Hackathon (Security)
Built solo against teams of 5-10 hackers. Zero-upload Copilot/Cursor implementation achieving theoretical minimum LLM context-sharing via local RAG architecture, exposing only relevant chunks (<1% of codebase) versus competitors' 100% upload. Maintains industry-standard sub-second query latency and complete data sovereignty.

rinkvision

Python, PyTorch, YOLOv8, OpenCV, ByteTrack, CVAT

CV pipeline for context-aware hockey analytics from broadcast video. Voted 3rd best in fair among 50+ projects in Brown CS1430. Tracks players frame-by-frame with HockeyAI/YOLO and ByteTrack, classifies players and teams, detects shot from CVAT-labeled clips using an LSTM classifier, and projects player locations into 2-d coordinates.

mininet

Go, RFCs 791/2453/9293

From-scratch virtual network stack implementing IP forwarding/RIP routing, guaranteed-delivery TCP streams, and a secure TLS layer. Runs hosts and routers as local processes over UDP-backed link layer; supports sockets, retransmissions, flow control, zero-window probing, authenticated DHKE, AES-GCM records, & lossy file transfer.

cf (c-french) language compiler

C, x86-64 Assembly, Make

In-progress compiler that forms a minimal programming language meant to be written in French and with C-like syntax. Supports nested conditionals, scoping, variable assignment, error handling, arithmetic, and more. Written with custom tokenizer, recursive descent parser, AST generator, and Assembly code generator.
